Dar il-Ħanin Samaritan
The Rule of the Society emphasizes the care of elderly Members. The Society worked hard on the building of modern accommodation for the elderly that also serves in hosting retreats and seminars. This facility was inaugurated in December 1996.
When a Member turns 61, he is eligible to apply to enter as a resident at Dar il-Hanin Samaritan. The house caters for both the physical and spiritual well being of its residents. The Members has the facility of a small unit combining a spacious living room and bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Members can receive visitors on a regular basis and can also keep themselves active during the day by looking after the orchard, garden, and indoor plants or do some small work in the workshop. Occasionally, the House also organizes outings for its residents and occupational therapy provided by students who choose to offer their community service as part of their 6th Form or University studies.
The residence also offers the facilities for individuals and groups to come and avail themselves from a number of facilities that DHS can offer. The residence can offer ample space for seminars, retreats and conferences. There are thirty spacious individual rooms, a conference hall, a library, chapel and a dining room.
